SRT or VTT — which one do you need?
SRT is the most widely supported subtitle format — most video editors, players, and upload dialogs accept it. VTT (WebVTT) is the web-native format used by HTML5 video players. Silestis exports both from the same timestamped transcript, so you don't have to choose in advance.

How do I generate an SRT file from a video?
Upload the video to Silestis or paste its link, transcribe it with a timestamp-capable model, and click the SRT export. Each subtitle line carries the timing from the transcript — no manual syncing.
Can I get VTT subtitles too?
Yes. When the transcript has timestamps, Silestis exports both SRT and VTT from the same transcript — SRT for editors and platforms, VTT for HTML5 web players.
Can I generate subtitles in another language?
Silestis supports multilingual transcription and translation. Exact source languages, translation directions, and timestamp support depend on the selected mode, so review the generated subtitle file before publishing it.
Do I have to upload the video?
No. For supported online sources, paste the link or use the browser extension on the page. Availability depends on the source and stream format. Uploads work too, up to 10 hours on the Max plan.
